Day One:
Flight arrived in Taipei at 7pm, no plan for today but then one of my friends is travelling in Taipei. We plan to meet up at Ningxia night market.

We take GuoGuang bus from Taoyuan to Taipei city center which cost us around NT 300 for two and you can buy ticket or use MRT card to pay.

Ningxia night market:
This is my top-one night market in Taipei. This is the most localist night market in Taipei, which recommended by Taiwanese and friends who studied in Taiwan for years. It is great food and reasonable price. We tried oyster omelet and also Taiwanese loklok.

Day Two:
Café hopping:
- Choose me café and meals

- 喝什么 café

CKS Memorial hall 國立中正紀念, A famous national monument, landmark and tourist attraction erected in memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek (Former president of the Republic of china)
This is free entry to the garden and park, and ticket is needed for entering the Museum.

And we found 车轮饼 in the way of walking to another attractions
This filled with red bean paste, not very sweet

Ximending shopping district, the "Harajuku" of Taipei, this pedestrian shopping haven is one of the city's culture centres, hosting a massive variety of fashion clothing shops, eclectic restaurants, clubs, and bars. We also tried Ximending super big fried chicken and papaya milk. Even they are famous food to try in Ximeding but then I felt like so-so.

Christmas market at new Taipei city government, however this is not really a place that you must go. The decoration is very nice and there are also have several Christmas decorations located in different location (nearby) you could discover.

Taipei 101 for 2020 new year count down with a free concert. We have Rainy Yang, may day and some famous singer count down with us!

Day Three:
We went out to Taipei unknown alley to find some local breakfast before head to Tamshui.

Tamshui, a romantical place
Tamshui fisherman’s wharf and lover’s bridge, a tourist attraction but not very impressive. However, the sunset is spectacular, a good place for photo checking in.
From Tamshui old street (another night market) I bought a lot food for supper in my room. Best way to end a day.

Day Four:
We travel from Tamshui to Beitou where is a place that famous in hot spring spa
From Tamshui MRT to Beitou MRT and then there is a free shuttle bus to and back from City spring resort
RM 71.89*2 with buy 1 free 1 offer from Klook
Use my refer code to get offer!!
You can also visit to Thermal Valley which is q nice place for sightseeing
It is very hot spring and not for spa

After hot spring spa, we back to Taipei and check in our stay for the night
We went back to Ningxia night market again for dumplings and some snacks

Day Five:

From Taipei take bus to Jiufen
For public transport from MRT zhongxiao-fuxing station and take bus 1062 to jiufen old street.
This options costs NT110 for a person and around 1.5 hours journey
(捷運忠孝復興站。再轉搭公車1062)
https://imreadygo.com/1158 Bus 1062 timetable:https://www.taiwanbus.tw/information.aspx?Line=4479&Lang=En)

Alternatively, the bus 1062 is quite crowded and then about 15mins for a bus. There have many taxi waiting and asking you if you want to have private ride around NT200 for a person and around 1 hours journey.
However, they sometimes cheating tourist like telling us the bus will need around NT150 for a person and 2 hours journey. It very depends on the condition of traffic. Think before making decision, for me, a budgeted trip, I would recommend to take bus because once the bus is full, they would not stop for station afterward.

Jiufen
Jiufen old street: market from morning to evening around 8pm.
The most famous café in Jiufen: A Mei Teahouse
Optional attractions: Gold Mining Town
Food: Braised Pork Rice (Lu Rou Fan), Taro Ball Soup (NT50 = RM6.7), A-zhu Peanut Ice Cream (NT40 = RM5.4), Jin Zhi Red Yeast Meat dumpling (NT45/pc, NT50/Bowl mixing = RM 6.7)

We planned to go Shifen for sky lantern, which is one of the must go place and must try thing to do.
You can visit to Waterfall (Niagara Fall), Ping Xi Station (Shifen) – Skylantern and Shi Fen Old Street.

Railway track and Lantern (NT150 for 1 colour and NT200 for 4 colour, each colour is symbolic and represents a wish you’d like to come true; Recycle - Green skylantern NT350)
Red for good fortune
Pink for romance
Peach-Red for decisions and opportunities
Orange for money
Yellow for success
White for health
Green for growth
Blue for hope
Purple for idealism

However, Jiufen has quite many thing to see and eat too, if you plan to have a relax, not rushing trip you can stay in jiufen or choose either visit to Shifen or KeeLung.

KeeLung, 10km away from Jiufen, have many attractions too for example, Keelung mountain and 正槟鱼港.
But then we choose to visit its night market. We tried fried dumplings again, cheesy sweet potato, cheesy octopuses’ ball. What a guilty supper.

Day Six:
Back to Taipei after breakfast and walk along the jiufen old street.

There have been some incidents that weren’t as pleasant, which is the host of a hotel (homestay) didn’t show up and we have to book a new stay immediately.
And finally, we get to manage all thing. We stay in XImending tonight. Before going to meet another of my friends in Shilin, we went to buy a cartoon bag that my relative asked me to do a favor.

Shilin is a biggest and the most crowded night market I remembered in Taipei. There are no Shilin fried chicken, a mystery in Malaysia.

Day Seven:
Last whole day in Taipei. Happy time always gone so fast.
We have our breakfast in KFC

And then we went to 食芋堂 to try its yam dessert, unfortunately, their café has sold out.
No. 7, Alley 5, Lane 345, Section 4, Ren'ai Road, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan 106 / 106台北市大安區仁愛路四段34557
Mon - sun (1200-1800)
They did offer reservation for cake and also provide ice pack for tourist who want to take away and bring back.

Lastly, we went to Xinyi Wei Xiu Shopping district and Wufenpu Shopping district
Wufenpu is a shopping district, selling a lot of clothes, shoes and bags. The price is not as cheap as you think, but still, you can visit if you have time.

For dinner and supper, we went to Raohe street night market

End of this trip

The conclusion for Taipei trip is
You dont have to go cafe or restaurant to have your whatever lunch or dinner
IF YOU ARE A TRAVELER
You should go try out local food like fish soup, sweet potato balls, taro balls and many many delicious foods in their night market

A very nice days spend in Taipei
Love ya XOXO
